Sourdough Pizza

Who doesn’t like pizza? -Mae Everdeen

I love pizza. Pizza + Me = πŸ’œIt’s possibly my most favorite food ever, if I had to eat the same food for the rest of my life I would pick pizza. It’s not always the same, you can have so many different toppings! Also, it has two of the best food groups, cheese and bread. πŸ˜„ What’s not to love? And lucky for me I get to have it every single week!

In my family on Friday we have pizza, watch a movie and eat popcorn! It’s an awesome way to end the week and start the weekend. For a long as I can remember I usually make the pizza, it’s always been my thing. This week is no different! Are you ready to make a steaming circle (or in my case, rectangle) of deliciousness?

FUN FACT #1: Did you know that pizza was originally only for peasants?

Step One: In large mixing bowl use dough whisk to mix together sourdough starter and olive oil.

Step Two: Mix in salt and flour. If it’s to sticky add more flour, if to dry add water. Keep adding either one until it looks right.

Step Three: Lift dough ball out of the bowl and set it aside for a moment. Rub olive oil in the bowl and then return the dough ball to the bowl. Put a towel over the bowl and set aside to rest for 2 or more hours. (Don’t be upset if it doesn’t rise. I never can get mine to. πŸ˜‹)

FUN FACT #2: Pizza originates from Italy

Step Four: Get out pans and put parchment paper on them (or sprinkle grits). Set oven to 500Β°.

FUN FACT #3: Did you know pizza is delicious? πŸ™ƒ

Step Five: Split dough in half. Roll them out to the size of your pans and then put them on the pans. Put in oven for 16 minutes, or until as soft or crispy as you want.

Step Six: While the pizza dough is in the oven get all your toppings out and ready. (I forgot the pizza sauce when I was taking the picture and was to lazy to retake it. XD)

Step Seven: Take pizzas out of the oven and top. Then put them back in the oven for another 8 minutes or until they are cooked to your liking.

Step Eight: Cut and enjoy!

Enjoy your lovely warm pizzas. I hope it well help you fend of the cold, and who can say no to fresh baked pizza! If your not a sourdough person, or are gluten free. Let me know and I’d be happy to post another pizza recipe!
