Home Alone *spoilers*

I made my family disappear -Kevin McCallister

I watch Home Alone every year with my family around the Christmas season it’s a family favorite, and we all love it so much. -Even though I pretended to hate it when ever it’s picked for family movie night, but by the end of the movies I’m always smiling.😜- It’s one of those movies that makes you laugh out loud, scoff at how idiotic the bad guys are, and has you in happy tears by the end.

To some it might seem like just a Christmas comedy but I feel like it goes deeper than that. It’s not just a Christmas comedy about a kid beating the bad guys all by himself, it’s a movie that makes you realize the real joy and meaning of Christmas. Family.

Kevin McCallister has a fight with his family, and ends up feeling misunderstood and angry at all his family. He screams at his mother telling her that he wished that his whole family would all just disappear, that he would be so much happier alone. Then he woke up the next morning to find…… his family had disappeared. He was over joyed, he could do whatever he wanted, go wherever he wanted, he was free from his annoying family.

Then the bad guys appear, they scares him but he is determined to protect his home. For an eight year old he dose a pretty good job of it. Lol. Even I -at age fourteen- couldn’t do that. I would just call the police. 😆 He come up with this awesome but crazy plan, setting booby traps up through out his whole house. Which I never get how he dose it all so fast! I mean I know it’s a movie, but still…

As Marv and Harry -the bad guys- set off trap after trap, Kevin is always close buy taunting them. Me I’m peeking out of my blanket cringing and wincing with every painful thing that happens to them. I’m not on their side, it’s just if that was real these guys would be dead dead. Eventually he calls the police and then hurries out of his house. To be caught by them in his neighbors house!

He is rescued and manages to clean up his house AND decorate it VERY fast. Then his mom comes home and their reunion is so heartfelt it almost feels real.

It’s a really good movie that pulls at your heart strings, and makes you realize that a big part of Christmas is family. Though apparently he doesn’t learn that because it happens again. 🙃

It’s not my favorite movie. But I love it. Even though I pretend I don’t.
