Crutches & Rambles

Hello beautiful people! You will not believe what happened to me this week. 🫠

It was a beautiful Tuesday, and I was on a walk with my family and our dogs. There was my mom, my two brothers, and our six dogs! My dad was at work. XP Well, anyways, we climbed the hill -which is my least favorite part of every walk-, and then we were going down the hill. My baby (Violet), was pulling hard on her leash, so I figured I would run for her, and we were going down hill, so I thought, it should be easy!

I will never again run down a hill.

I was running down the hill, stumbling along -it’s a nature trail, so plenty of bumps, roots, and the like- when it happened. My foot must have caught on a root, or something, because the next thing I knew, all I could feel was pain. The worst pain I ever felt in my entire fifteen years.

I lay on the trail, screaming my head off. I couldn’t think, move, or do anything. I just lay there, my whole existence filled with pain. Now, as I look back, the pain is really all I can even remember, but even that has faded. All I am left with is the fear of experiencing that pain again, and the aftermath of my injury.

It took a while for my mom to even semi-calm me down. Once I could breath again, and think -a bit-, my mom asked me the most random questions to keep me preoccupied. So there we sat, waiting. So much waiting. Because, you see, I was out in the middle of no where, with only one usable leg. My brothers had to go get our side by side to pick me up.

The rest of that day was filled with me trying to ignore the pain, ibuprofen, and TV, lots pf TV. XD

As you can see, I am still alive a few days later. 🤪 My pain level, which was at a 12 (out of 10) when it happened, is now around a 2 or 3! I still can’t walk, but I can put a bit of weight on my leg. My daily life hasn’t changed much, but I do a lot more siting; which is saying A LOT. I have crutches, and knee brace (I love my knee brace), and they do help. Though using the crutches had been killing my shoulders… And I can’t make it far without siting down. XD

Well, that’s all I have to tell! If I left something out that you wanted to hear about, just let me know in the comments. Also, I would like to thank all of my family. 💜 They have been absolutely AMAZING. Helping me out with everything I need; whether it’s getting up and down stairs, or tucking the blanket around my cold toes. XP They have been so wonderful, and I have never appreciated my family more.

Special thanks to my brother, E, who basically picked me up those first few days. I would never have been able to do it without him.
