The First Snow

A World covered in frozen beauty -Mae Everdeen

The first snow is always a magical thing. It comes in a time where you’ve forgotten how beautiful a world covered in frost is, when you’ve forgotten the joy of winter, when your not ready for the chill of the season. Then it snows, reminding you of the magic and joy of winter. Waking up one morning to look out the window and see the earth covered in sugar. It’s so pure white, so perfect. So magical.

Snow is one of the few perfect things we have in our world. Something we can never exactly replica. Something that is never the same, but always special. Watching those first flakes fall slowly to the ground is a magic unlike anything else in the world.

I never get a lot of snow around where I live. (Not as much as I wish we would get anyway.😉) Just a few thin layers throughout the whole winter. That’s one of the things that make it so special to me. The small amounts make it precious.

Most winters before my grandparents (on my moms side) moved, we would go over to there place when it snowed. They had a perfect hill for sledding down. It way always so much fun. It was a pretty big part of my childhood. Those chilly afternoons, followed by hot chocolate and AFV (Americas Funniest Videos).

It was the Benny and Violets first time seeing snow. They loved it! Even though there wasn’t much of it they had a lot of fun anyway. 😄

It reminds me of Jacksons (you’ll meet him later, he one of our other dogs) first time with snow. He hated it so much. Lol. I gave him a snowballs and he ate it, shivering so hard at the end. He’s always been more of an inside dog. Once when he was an itty bitty puppy, he crawled up inside of the sleeve of my moms sweater. It was hilarious.

One of my favorite things about snow is the way it looks before it has any prints (dogs or humans) in it. I don’t know how to explain it. It just gives me a happy feeling. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know some people hate snow because of it’s cold, and wet. I totally get that. I hate the feeling of tingling fingers while there warming up, and pruney toes. But the fun and joy snow brings is worth it. Also if you take a long warm shower after, it’s more than worth it! And sweaters and blankets are awesome.

That’s all I have to share today, but I would love to hear any fun snow story’s you have! Grab a blanket, maybe some tea or hot chocolate, and settle down. It’s the perfect season to share.
